Description

Filters on a character string entered in a row column and returns only the records that contain that string 'filter' value

Filter

  - Prompts the user for the entry of a 'filter' value

  - Uses the entered string to search the report grid for matches

  - Displays only the records that contain the filter value

  - Requires clicking the Refresh Action to redisplay the full contents of the Report Grid

  - Helps users focus on specific data subsets

Steps

• Click Filter
• Click a Column Header
• Enter Value to filter the records on
• Press Tab (or click out of the field)

Results

• Only records containing the string entered in the filter field will appear in the report grid

Example

•  - 'jpeg' filter set for Description column, only records with character string 'jpeg' are returned.
